Today Was That Day
For 6/10/15) -- DR. SHAD HELMSTETTER'S TODAY'S SELF-TALK: "If I had one day, one time, one moment, to live up to my best, take action, get things done, move forward and excel, I would do it. And as soon as I think the thought, I know the truth. Today is the day, this is the time, and right now is the moment."
My post in response ...
Today was that day! And tomorrow will be as well.
Today I rode a beautiful and powerful horse named Bandit in an actual longhorn cattle drive.
There were moments when I was a little scared, and there were moments when I was overwhelmed with peace and gratitude. There were moments when I felt unsure, and there were moments when I knew that I was right where I was supposed to be.
Most importantly, I felt my cup fill up. I am so proud of myself for being brave enough to experience something I'd never experienced before.
There is something so powerful that happens when we stretch ourselves out of our comfort zones and then realize that we have inside ourselves everything we need to succeed.
I hope you find a way to make the most of your moments. Stretch a little if you can, and then celebrate your success.
And I would add to this powerful tool. Yes, I am proud of myself for stretching and succeeding, and allowing myself to Notice the goodness in myself is an important tool as well. This is a skillset I have not always had and it is one that is serving me well.
